Modifying and Meditating: The way to achieve success!

It's a New Year! Another chance to do what you planned another year ago.  However, the question is: what is it that made us not achieve our goals last year?

I'm not sure if I have mentioned before, but every Sunday I text Bible verses to those in my phone and post the pictures up with that Bible verse on facebook.  So far, I have done 40 Bible verses!

I started doing this on Sunday, April 3rd planning to end on my birthday April 8th.

This "Facebook Challenge" that I came up with is something that I knew I could do because it doesn't require too much time or effort.  However, at the same time the impact of something so simple as receiving a friendly, sincere message on Sunday makes people happy and look forward to a great week.  All of this, I am assuming from the feedback I have received.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't continue doing the challenge if I didn't get the feedback that I did.
It's funny how things workout from not peer pressure, but positive influence to continue.

 Without counsel plans fail,
but with many advisers they succeed.

Although, I have to admit- I didn't start this "Facebook Challenge" to glorify God.  I did all this for selfish reasons, I did it to impress a boy.  Well, it didn't.

Even though that plan failed to impress someone to like me, it opened up another plan that I didn't even comprehend.  I didn't realize the significance of the dates either at the time.  What are the odds, that my 20th birthday (the last day of the challenge), will be on Easter?!

Woah, mind blown there.
The plans of the heart belong to man,
but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.
All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
but the Lord weighs the spirit.
Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established.

As well, New Years and Christmas have been on Sunday's during this challenge so far.

So, what I am striving to do this year for resolutions is that when one plan fails, string up another one to take it's place with what I have achieved so far.

The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps.
This year, I am going to try to live by my philosophy to "do my best, and leave God the rest."  God has a plan, a resolution for all of us if we allow Him too.
So, this year when planning a resolution: I highly suggest praying about it first!
And, when you do make a goal, a plan, or a resolution and you fail- don't quit!

Quitting only means that you will never achieve something you once desired.  However, try to do this only with goals- not people! If you fail to catch the guy you wanted, just keep fishin'.  If it's meant to be with someone, it will happen. ;)

Sure you may fail at staying on track with reading the Bible all day or losing 50 pounds.  But, remember you need to crawl before you can walk or run.

Try reading one book of the Bible within a time span, like reading Hebrews over the semester.  When trying to lose weight, start by modifying your diet and exercise routine.

As well, remember the buddy system!

It's great to do it with your best friend or your sister, but maybe try teaming up with the most powerful being in all of existence!

Pray before, during, and after every step that leads toward your goals!

Many are the plans in the mind of a man,
but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

In summary, after my little babbles here and there: just because it's after New Year's you can still start fresh on anyday!
And sometimes plans do fail, sometimes for reasons that we cannot comprehend.  But, if completely give up on something you worked hard on- you will never achieve that goal or resolution.  Just modify it! Pray on it! Fish for a different goal that swims in the same waters!

Have a blessed day,
<3 KM
