Goals

My summer has officially began.  This means that I should start relaxing, right?  Wrong.

I have accomplished the majority of my goals for this semester- I made straight A's and got into the Health Services Management program! (Yay!). God has undoubtedly blessed me so much this semester!

I definitely needed a good semester after facing so much hardship and drama last semester in the Fall.  So, you may be wondering what am I doing with my life now?  I am continuing to make goals and try to accomplish them by the end of the summer.
Some of my goals are to:
1. Train for a half-marathon (13.1 miles)
2. Volunteer 50 hours at the hospital by the end of the summer
3. Read my Bible/ have "alone time" with God each day.
4. Do well on the GRE

I have pretty high expectations, which can be helpful or hurtful.  But, I figure with continuous hard work and prayer, I can accomplish all of these goals.
One thing I have learned from various "life learning" classes that colleges mandate and Psychology of Adjustment it is good to have specific goals.  As well as having long-term goals, it is good to have short-term goals.

For instance, when losing weight- I made a goal of losing a 1 pound each week.  At least, I would like to say I made it a goal- it was more of I would work out almost everyday and started eating healthy-ish to lose weight.  While my goal weight was 150 pounds in the long-run.
I hope by having realistic goals, I can improve myself in every possible way- mentally, physically, and spiritually.

However, the ULTIMATE goal, is the prize awaiting us in Heaven.

Philippians 3:13-14 ESV

"Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus"

I believe God will reward us for our hard work here on earth, but also for the love of our actions.  God has want us to work hard, be motivated, and be "go-getters." For, the more doors we knock on, the more doors God will open!  What joy there is in knowing our Father and Creator is for us!  If not rewarded in this life, we will definitely be rewarded in the next!

Have a blessed day!
