Pieces of a Puzzle

My roommate (and best friend) absolutely loves puzzles.  She will take her time to do them, invite others to help her, and then after it sits out on the coffee table for a while- she'll put it back in the box where she can complete it again.

In a way, I feel like my life is a puzzle.  And, everyday there will either be a piece that fits the picture or it won't. "What is the picture of?," you may be thinking.

This is the picture of the life God wants for you.  God is taking his time to complete your puzzle, God is helping you connect some pieces yourself, and after the pieces of our life are together and complete for a bit- God will take us to join Him in heaven!

Well, maybe it's not that simple.

Mostly because we have our own picture in mind, our own puzzle that we want to create.  But, this is hard to do because sometimes the pieces we pick up don't belong to God's puzzle.  Maybe the piece of a friend doesn't fit, the piece of a significant other doesn't either, and maybe neither does the career in music piece fits either.

However, the piece of travel, the piece of a loving family, or the piece of a career in art may fit perfectly.

In Mark 14, when Jesus was on his knees- he prayed long and hard asking God that God's Will be done, not his own.

“Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
-Mark 14: 36

I didn't get into nursing school (again) and have finally changed my major as much as I didn't want too.  Yet, I know this may just be part of God's will to make a puzzle much more beautiful than what I can form.

So, I pray that those reading do not feel overwhelmed with the trials life gives.  And, remember that what we will, may not be God's will.  God's will may require more work, more burden, more stress, more time, and require most faith.  Through this we will become tired, sleepy, groggy, and maybe even giving up.

But: "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Mark 14:38)

Have a blessed day,
