Rejection

Over the past few day I have needed to focus my energy on school work, as well as still trying to find a summer job.  Lately, I have just been feeling completely rejected.  First rejected by the nursing school, rejected from people, and now rejected from every job I apply too (at least that is what I feel like is happening).

While in the middle of my rut, I grabbed my guitar and started to play "Lost" by Coldplay.  And, after some serious contemplation, and watching depressing videos on YouTube such as Mufasa's Death (Lion King reference).

I realized, rejection is hard.  Everyone some point in their life has been rejected- that is why people write songs like "Lost" and sappy romantic comedies where "the one" gets away.

Does rejection ever cross your way?  How does one even handle rejection?!

Yet, rejection never stopped my Lord and Savior.

Jesus was rejected, some thought he was insane, and some probably thought he was a liar.  However, despite being hated by the top of Roman officials and by his own people- to the point of the worst form of death/ torture around in that time period.  Jesus Never Stopped.

Jesus gave his life for those who questioned Him, for those who spit at him, for those who whipped him near death, and for those who crucified him.

Jesus gave all he had in the namesake of Love.

Jesus did not have to die on the cross for the world's sin.  But he did.

Jesus did not have to live thirty-three years as a humble man, working as a carpenter, and developing calluses and facing the occasional sickness.  But he did.

The question becomes not "what would Jesus do?," but the question becomes "What DID Jesus did?!"

Jesus gave his life to save the world, after living a completely sin-free life.  Jesus overcame death.

The best part, even though Jesus HAD to die after being rejected.

Jesus will NEVER reject those who love him!

2 Corinthians 4:7-9
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. ” (KJV)

Even though life has tough times, where it just seems nothing goes the right way.  Rejection doesn't mean you should stop.  Facing rejection may even lead someone to acceptance of Jesus as their Christ and Savior.

Rejection always leads to hope though.  Hope that something better will come along in the long-run.

 Galatians 6:9-10
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (NKJV)

Have a blessed day,

<3 KM
